Listed Building Consent Application
Listed Building Consent is required for any works which would affect the special interest of a statutory, listed building, including demolition. In the case of the Park, the Listed Building Consent application relates solely to the NSC and works to convert it to a ‘Low Key Use’. A ‘Low-Key Use’ means that the building would have minimal servicing, but the space contained therein could be used for sports that can take place in an unheated environment.
“Alteration of existing buildings and structures and upgrading and conversion of National Sports Centre comprising internal alterations, replacement and refurbishment of existing features, demolition of high level walkway and ramps, demolition of training pool building, Crystal Suite and concrete ventilation duct structures and elevational alterations together with associated and ancillary works, plant and equipment.”
