Accessibility
We want Crystal Palace Park to be a welcoming and enjoyable place for everyone.
The park is a large Grade II* listed landscape with a mix of paved paths, gravel routes, grassed areas and woodland. While much of the park is accessible, there are some areas where slopes, uneven surfaces, and seasonal ground conditions may affect access.
The recent park-wide regeneration project has brought significant improvements to accessiblity including the installation of a step-free route at the Italian Terraces, and a new Dinosaur Playground with integrated accessibility features. However, there is much more work to do to all the venues, landmarks and wayfinding in the park and this will be at the heart of any future regeneration works in the park.

Getting around the park
Crystal Palace Park covers approximately 200 acres and has multiple entrances. Maps and signage are available at key entrances to help you navigate the park.
Most entrances provide step-free access, although gradients and surface conditions vary across the park.
Visitors can expect:
- Wide surfaced pathways through many areas of the park
- Some gravel and compacted paths
- Areas of uneven ground
- Steeper gradients in parts of the park
- Seasonal changes that may affect accessibility, particularly after wet weather
Benches and seating are located throughout the park, including near key attractions and visitor facilities.
Accessible toilets
A Changing Places toilet is located at the Penge end of the park, close to the Penge Gate car park and Visitor Centre.
Additional accessible toilets are available in the public toilet block beside the Visitor Centre and at the Concert Platform.
